We created this Book Band with Charm (White Cat) around the adorable motifs drawn by Yumi Kitagishi, an illustrator who has also been making a name for herself as a picture book author in recent years.

It is a handy item that keeps your techo or book from opening inside your bag. Made from elastic material with a hook, the band can be adjusted to fit both the A6 and A5 sizes of the Hobonichi Techo HON perfectly. At the centre of the band is a faux-leather charm decorated with an illustration of a white cat. The band also includes a pen holder that can hold two pens of different thicknesses.

Of course it is wonderful paired with Yumi Kitagishis techo covers, but it also adds a lovely accent to the clean, simple design of the HON. It is a useful tool whenever you want to bundle together a notebook, memo pad or book to carry with you.

Yumi Kitagishi is an illustrator who creates works with a rich sense of colour and the warmth of hand-drawing, giving people a picture book-like view of the world. Publications include The Black and White Cat Postman (published by Akane Shobo) and Almost Christmas (published by Hakusensha).

Built for Daily Use

• Nothing springs open in your bag: The elastic band holds your techo firmly shut, so loose sticky notes and tickets never make a break for it somewhere between home and the office.
• Two pens, one band: The built-in holder takes two pens of different thicknesses, which means your fine liner and your fat highlighter always travel with the book they belong to.
• A charm with a little give: The white cat charm at the centre is faux leather: smooth, softly padded and quietly satisfying to fidget with while you think.
