  • Wisteria Shiro-Kapitan is a highly scented, award-winning climber that puts on a spectacular display of elegant white flowers. In spring and early summer, it produces masses of cascading sprays up to 15cm long, filled with fragrant, pea-like snow-white blooms, each marked with a distinctive yellow spot. Later summer flowers emerge with a softer, pinkish blush in bud, while the fresh new foliage appears pale yellow-green, creating a beautiful contrast against the pristine blooms. A perfect choice for covering fences, verandahs, pergolas and sturdy structures, Shiro-Kapitan can also be trained as a weeping standard over a very strong support. Prune lightly after flowering, with a further prune in autumn if needed to maintain shape, particularly when training as a standard.

Please note: Wisteria is toxic to cats, dogs and horses if eaten.

Soil: Humus-rich, well-drained soil with adequate water during flowering.
Conditions: Full sun to part shade. Frost hardy and wind tolerant.
    Size: Height 9m x width 9m
