After a good deal of anodised aluminium and machined titanium, a little wood on the desk is a relief. The Stilform Wooden Holder is a small, matte-oiled rest that cradles a pen or pencil horizontally no magnets, no mechanism, just a shaped block of walnut, cedar or ebony doing exactly one job properly.

Each is finished with oil rather than lacquer, so the grain stays open and the colour deepens gently over the years. Walnut is warm and mid-brown, cedar paler and faintly fragrant, ebony very nearly black. Any of them will make an aluminium pen look considerably more expensive than it is.

Small Details, Big Difference

• The pen stays where you left it: The cradle holds it still, so nothing rolls off the desk mid-conversation.
• Warmth against all that metal: You get a natural, tactile surface that never feels as clinical as the pens resting on it.
• Oiled, not lacquered: The finish lets the grain show and always ages gracefully rather than chipping.
