Not every day needs a pencil case the size of a lunchbox. The Sanrio Characters Slim Pen Case is a slender zipped pouch for the handful of pens you actually use, and it comes in five characters: Hello Kitty in pillar-box red, My Melody in candyfloss pink, Pompompurin in custard yellow, Cinnamoroll in summer-sky blue and Kuromi in lilac with a jet-black zip.

The polyester has a soft, faintly ribbed feel, and the contrasting zip runs the full length of the case, so it opens wide and you see everything at a glance. A woven tab on the pull gives your fingers something to find. On one side sits the character’s name; on the other, a little figure taking a nap, which is, frankly, how most pencil cases spend their day.

Built for Daily Use

• Fits where bulky cases don’t: At 18cm long and 5cm tall, it slips into a tote, a work bag or a planner pocket without any fuss.
• Opens all the way: The long zip lets you see every pen at once, so you never tip the whole lot out to find one highlighter.
• Two designs in one: The name on the front and the sleeping character on the back mean you always get a small smile, whichever way up it lands.
