The Penco 2027 Memo Block Calendar loses a page a day, entirely on purpose. Three hundred and sixty-five leaves of vivid marigold yellow sit in a block barely wider than a business card, each carrying its date in large figures with a ruled space beneath for whatever the day demands. You tear one off when the day is done, and that is the whole ceremony.

The block is denser than it looks 206 grams of paper pressed into 36 millimetres so it stays put on a desk rather than sliding about under your hand. Each sheet parts cleanly along the top edge with a single pull, never tearing raggedly across the middle. By March the block is visibly thinner, which is either encouraging or alarming, depending entirely on your year.

Small Details, Big Difference

• A list that expires: You write the day’s few jobs on the sheet itself, and at midnight they go in the bin with the date. Nothing carries over unless you decide it should.
• You can see time passing: The block thins under your fingers as the months go, and you develop an oddly accurate sense of how much year is left.
• The yellow always finds you: Against a desk of white paper and grey screens, it is the one thing you never mislay. You always know where the date is.
