The mt x SOU.SOU Iroiro Washi Tape scatters its numerals across a white ground in a full spread of colour, with no two neighbours quite matching. Iroiro means assorted, and the roll is entirely faithful to the name. A single 15mm roll of Japanese washi paper, printed by mt to a design from the Kyoto house SOU.SOU.

It becomes the roll you use most, because it goes with everything else you already own. The washi is thin and matt, tears square between finger and thumb, and comes away from the page without a fight. Ink dries on it quickly enough to write and close the notebook.

Small Details, Big Difference

• Goes with everything: You never have to match it to a colour scheme, because the tape is already doing that work for you.
• Comes off cleanly: You move it around a spread until the layout is right, and the paper underneath shows no sign of it.
• Takes a pen without smudging: You label, date or annotate straight onto the tape, and the writing stays put.
