Here is a small pen with an enormous nib, and that is entirely the point. The Esterbrook Niblet measures just 108mm capped, yet carries a full #6 JoWo nib the same size you’d find in pens twice its length. It comes in hand-turned acrylic: the warm amber shell of Tortoise, the inky depths of Nouveau Bleu, the matte darkness of Black Raven, the golden cells of Honeycomb, the pale tidal wash of Sea Glass and the leafy sprawl of Botanical Garden.

Uncapped it’s barely there. Post the cap it screws down on the same threads, so it never works loose in your pocket and you have a full 127mm of pen, properly balanced and comfortable for as long as you care to write. You’ll stop thinking of it as a small pen after about a paragraph.

Don’t Let the Size Fool You

• A full-size nib in a pocket pen: The #6 JoWo nib is the same unit the full-size Estie uses, so the two are interchangeable. No compromise on the writing, none at all.
• A cap that screws on both ends: Capped it seals properly; posted it locks to the barrel on the same threads. Your pen never comes apart in a bag, and your nib never dries out.
• Resin turned one at a time: Each barrel is cut from hand-poured acrylic, so the swirl on yours belongs to yours alone. Hold it to the light and watch the colour move.
