Coffea arabica is an attractive evergreen shrub with glossy, dark green foliage and a naturally compact, bushy habit. In spring, it produces masses of wonderfully fragrant, jasmine-scented white flowers, followed by green berries that gradually ripen to brilliant cherry red in autumn. In as little as 23 years, you can begin harvesting your own coffee cherries! Once dried and roasted, the beans inside produce the much-loved beverage enjoyed around the world. The sweet flesh surrounding the beans is also edible.A versatile plant, Arabica Coffee works beautifully as a feature shrub, informal hedge or even a potted indoor plant in bright, warm conditions. It prefers a frost-free position and makes a particularly rewarding addition to a home garden for coffee lovers.
