Banksia collina, also known as Hill Banksia or Golden Candlesticks, is a versatile shrub or small tree prized for its fine, dark green, needle-like foliage and striking golden-orange flower spikes. Flowering from autumn through to winter, the nectar-rich blooms are highly attractive to birds, bees and other beneficial pollinators, bringing colour and wildlife into the garden. Adaptable to a wide range of well-drained soil types, Banksia collina is an excellent choice for native gardens, feature planting, screening or informal hedging. Tough, low maintenance and drought tolerant once established, it is a rewarding Australian native that provides year-round interest.
