Acer Atropurpureum is a beautiful deciduous weeping Japanese maple prized for its delicate, fern-like foliage and graceful form. New leaves emerge in rich purple-red shades in spring, maturing to green with subtle purple tones through summer before transforming into striking orange-red hues in autumn. Small reddish flowers appear in spring, adding a delicate touch to the tree. Its elegant weeping habit and changing foliage colours make it a stunning feature for gardens and courtyards. Water regularly and keep the soil moist until established. Fertilise when planting and again after new growth appears, with pruning only required to maintain shape if needed.

Soil: Best grown in moist, organically rich, slightly acidic, well-drained soils
