Acacia implexa, commonly known as Hickory Wattle or Lightwood, is a fast-growing Australian native tree admired for its graceful form and remarkable adaptability. Growing with a tall, upright habit and an open canopy of slender green foliage, it creates a light, airy presence in the landscape while providing dappled shade. During summer, the crown becomes covered in masses of soft pale yellow, ball-shaped flowers, creating a striking display that attracts bees and other beneficial pollinators.Naturally occurring across a wide range of environments, Acacia implexa is exceptionally versatile and thrives in coastal gardens, suburban landscapes, rural properties, bushland settings, and revegetation projects. Its combination of rapid growth, wildlife value, and year-round ornamental appeal makes it an excellent feature tree for those seeking a hardy native that brings beauty, shade, and habitat to the landscape.
