Hydrangea Setsuka Yae is a rare and highly collectible Japanese lacecap hydrangea, prized for its unusual half-double sterile flowers and compact habit. The delicate blooms appear in late spring and summer in attractive, irregular corymbs, with flower colour ranging from brilliant pale blue in acidic soils to soft pink in neutral or alkaline conditions. As the flowers mature, they develop beautiful crimson and green tints, adding another layer of interest as the season progresses. Setsuka Yae is a wonderfully compact variety for garden beds, cottage gardens and containers, while the thick green foliage provides an attractive backdrop to the intricate blooms.
